----------------

Assalamualaikum and greetings to you.

My name is Mohamed Aslam Bin Haja Najumudeen.

I am the third child from 5 siblings and I am 37 years of age.

I was born on 12th March 1983, in Klang.

I then grew up and then finds myself a home in Pelabuhan Klang.

I was schooled in Sekolah Rendah Pelabuhan Klang and spent my teenage years at Sekolah Menengah Tengku Ampuan Rahimah.

Then, I got married four years ago, at the age of 33 years old and blessed with one kid who is now 11 months old.

My wife’s name is Fazilah binti Mohd Sali and my son’s name is Mohammad Alif.

At FA Selangor, I was appointed with the designation of the second assistant head coach for Selangor 2, who is lead by Mr. Michael Feichtenbeiner as the head coach.

My daily routine is to come an hour early before the training session starts to attend my meeting with all the coaches to discuss the training that will be conducted for that session.

After the discussion finished, I will directly go to the field or the training ground to prepare all the training items and arranging all the routines according to the earlier discussions.

If the training starts earlier on the next day, then all of us will discuss it earlier on the night before for the preparations that need to be done the for next morning.

My career journey starts with Selangor started in 2018 where during that time I was appointed as the assistant head coach for the youth squad.

After a year has passed, I was playing my role in the Selangor youth team and thankful to God, in 2020 I was promoted to become the Selangor 2 assistant head coach.

Honestly, the challenges and demands of coaching the youth team are different compare to the coaching of the Selangor 2 team.

Playing in Liga Perdana dan using all under-23 players with one import player is actually a big challenge.

The demands for Selangor 2 is bigger because we can see it from the intensity of the training and its rivalries, everything is different.

Other than that, we also need to train their minds and matured, so they can think and acts like senior players and not junior.

However, to me, I take all of this as a learning curve and I'm grateful to be given this opportunity with the team.

I would like to bid my thanks to the head coach of Selangor, Coach Satiananthan for allowing me to join the main squad team line-up last season.

I was given the chance to assists Coach Satia after both of his assistants were away with coaching courses.

From the opportunity, I started to prepare myself and God-willing, I will use the experience I gained to be implemented when coaching Selangor 2.

Talking about my football career, I started playing football since 2003 before calling it a day in 2016.

My love for football started a long time ago when I was 7 years old. One of the main people who made me love football is my brother.

He always brings me to the field to play football and from there the maturity comes in as I used to play with people who are much older than me.

Even tho I was just a ball picker during that time behind the goalposts, it allowed me to know more about football.

One of the memories that I can’t seem to forget is when I was 14 years old, I joined the tryouts for Selangor under-14 squads.

I manage to make it to the final selection, but my name was dropped because of my body weight.

During that time, the coach said to me that I have talents but because of my body weight, I tend to get tired and can’t play throughout the whole match.

It was a life-changing moment for me, as I know he speaks the truth.

After that, I was determined to lose weight and I trained every single day and finally, the next following year, I managed to join the under-15 squad and stay with them until under19 squad.

People say the opportunity doesn’t knock twice on your door. When I was 20, I was offered to join the Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya FC (MPPJ FC).

Even sweeter, during that season, MPPJ FC won the Malaysia Cup and soon after, I joined the UPD MyTeam inn2007 and played as their defender.

With UPB, I spent three years there and after that, I joined PKNS FC, ATM FA, and Kuala Lumpur FA.

For these three teams, I joined them for a season each.

After that, I was loaned out to Kelantan FA and alhamdulillah I won Piala Malaysia and played in the AFC Cup tournament in Iraq.

During the same season also, we manage to win treble after winning the Liga Super, FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup.

After winning all of these trophies, I think I'm quite satisfied with my life and having thought to quit form playing football.

But soon after, I still played with my team SPA Putrajaya until 2016, then I finally hung my boot.

After I retired, I focused on becoming a coach and alhamdulillah, here I am today.

Finally, I want to advise the new football players, please maintain your discipline.

I admit, nowadays challenges are different and not as easy as it used to be during my time.

Back then, after finished training, I will directly go home and have a rest and during night time, I will sleep early.

But nowadays, with technological advancements, it is quite hard for them to maintain their discipline.

Dengan media sosial yang ada, dengan telefon pintar yang mana mereka bermain sehingga lewat malam, perkara ini yang akan mengganggu pemain-pemain ini.

With social media and smartphones, they have the proclivity to play games and sleep at night, and this can actually affect them.

To me as a coach, I can only remind them of this, but it is still up to them to help themselves.
