Official Announcement Of Selangor 2


Football Association of Selangor (FAS) today officially announced the Selangor 2 squad as the feeder team to the Red Giants' main team.

The objective of the formation of this feeder team is to pave ways for young talents to play in the senior team, providing a better platform for the players to display their quality as well as to ensure the club's sustainability in the long run.

Pasukan ini bakal bersaing bersama pasukan-pasukan lain secara kompetitif di Liga Premier, liga tangga kedua di Malaysia.

This squad will also be exposed in competitive matches with other big teams in the Liga Premier, the second-highest football competition tier in Malaysia.

For their debut season, the Selangor 2 squad will also be empowered with one import player from Kosovo, Bajram Nebihi to ensure that the team can compete positively in the league, as well as to give guidance and share experience with the young Selangor players.

Most of the Selangor 2 squad is strengthen with the young talented players from the Selangor and PKNS FC youth and president squad, as well as the graduates of the Akademi Mokhtar Dahari (AMD) program.

Some of the notable players from Selangor’s youth and president squad from last season that plays for Selangor 2 this season are Shahrul Nazeem (team captain), Sharvin Selvakumaran, Syazwan Salihin, Faris Kamarudin, and Aqil Fadhly.

The merge of FAS and PKNS FC also sees the Red Ants hottest prospect like Mior Dani Armin, Raja Omran Shah Raja Amin, and Shivan Pillay will also don Selangor 2 jersey this season.

Other than that, the graduates of AMD such as Azrin Afiq, Harith Haiqal, and Sikh Izhan also being listed as the player that will represent the Red Giants feeder team.

Former PKNP player who gets a lot of attention during the last Malaysia Cup, Mukhairi Ajmal and Firdaus Irman also being listed as Selangor 2 line ups.

Another big name in Selangor 2 includes Malaysia-Australia mixed-blood player who used to be part of Malaysia under 23 during the last SEA Game, Quentin Cheng also named as part of the diverse squad.

The young squad will be trained and mold under the guidance of the technical director of Selangor cum head coach for Selangor 2, Michael Feichtenbeiner from Germany.

The European is an experienced and seasoned coach who spent a lot of time developing the grass root level of football in the major European league and he will be assisted by former Selangor player and legend, Rusdi Suparman, and Aslam Najmudeen as the head coach assistants.

Other big-name that included in Selangor 2 coaching staff are formal national goalkeeping coach, Lim Chuan Chin who used to nurture and polish young goalie talents like Khairul Fahmi Che Mat and Farizal Marlis, as well as former Malaysia under 22 fitness coach, Mashidee Sulaiman.

FA Selangor hoped that with the formation and introduction of the Selangor 2 squad, it will resonate positive impacts on local football development and empowerment, especially on the grass-root level as well as transforming the football club as a whole.
