The grassroots football development program organized by the Selangor FA, FAS Soccer School today recorded its own history when it received the recognition of the SupaRimau Charter with gold status from the parent body of Malaysian football, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

This diagram was awarded to the Selangor FA during the evaluation and handover ceremony held at the FAS Training Center represented by FAM Technical Director, Peter de Roo, FAM Grassroots Development Head, Samuel Siew, FAM Technical Officer, Leila Chua and handed over to Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, as the Secretary-General of the association.

Also present at this brief ceremony were Michael Feichtenbeiner, FAS Technical Director, Muhammad Izrin Nabil, Head of FAS Competition Unit, and Gugan Ramulu, FAS Development Officer.

FAM's efforts to launch the SupaRimau Charter program to raise the prestige and empowerment of grassroots football academies across the country deserve praise as it not only puts new yardstick on existing development programs but also creates a more systematic football ecosystem and dynamic.

The existence of this charter will also promote more grassroots football academies, take them to a higher and more systematic level, thereby bringing more benefits to the football community in general. The football academies that exist throughout the state of Selangor have also shown interest and given a positive response to be involved in this program and it is expected that more recipients of this charter will appear in the state.

FAS Soccer School is a grassroots program that emphasizes the introduction to the development of football. This program also targets primary school children throughout the state of Selangor aged 7 to 12 years. The FAS Soccer School program is also a long-term program to produce holistic individuals through positive physical, mental and social development through a football approach.

The Selangor FA is grateful to FAM for this recognition and is of the view that this is one of the strengthening of the grassroots football development program. Apart from that, this charter will also be a guideline and yardstick for grassroots football development programs throughout the country, especially in the state of Selangor.

Keep moving forward, Selangor football!
