MATCH PREVIEW: Nothing Is Impossible (CIMB Liga Super 2020)

Selangor will visit the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri, Johor to continue the 8th match of CIMB Super League 2020 against the league leader and defending champion, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) on September 19.

This will be the sixth match of Selangor as a visiting team in Johor since 2017 and will be the first one on the Southern Tiger’s new turf.

B. Satiananthan, Selangor head coach stated that nothing is impossible as the team will work hard against JDT as in previous matches.

"The coaches are asking the players to give their best as they have given so far, nothing is impossible but we have to work very hard to give a good fight to get the best results," said Satiananthan.

This Saturday, Selangor will play against JDT without the presence of several key players such as their naturalized player, Brendan Gan due to suspension after being sent off during the match against Melaka United last week and the main goalkeeper, Khairulazhan Khalid who was released on personal matters.

Despite not having his best starting lineup, Satiananthan feels this is the most ideal opportunity for other players to shine.

"Playing against a good team will surely give great motivation to the players, even without some key players of the team. This is a great opportunity for other players to shine and show their abilities,” he added.

As for the player's availability, another two players will also miss the match, as Mukhairi Ajmal was sidelined due to injury factors, while Hakim Hassan is still undergoing physiotherapy.

The Red Giants' latest position in the CIMB Super League 2020 chart is at the sixth spot with 10 points accumulated as a result of two wins, four draws, and one defeat.

Hopefully, Selangor will achieve full points in the match in Johor and keep the good momentum until the end of CIMB Super League 2020.

Let’s do this, Red Giants!
