Red Giants Hit The Road For Malaysia Cup Preparation

The Red Giants are camping out in Negeri Sembilan to conduct training sessions ahead of the Malaysia Cup tournament after contact sports activities are not allowed in the state of Selangor due to CMCO.

The relocation of this training venue has been approved by the authorities as all team movements and training sessions will also follow the strict procedures and SOPs outlined by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

According to the interim Selangor head coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner, a training session outside Selangor was conducted to facilitate the proper preparation session for the Malaysia Cup 2020 as well as helping to bring out the best in the team.

"FAS management has done a good job of giving us the opportunity to train outside Selangor. The different training environments can give a fresh perspective to the players and can strengthen their relationship with each other.”

“Such training is needed because we are not allowed to undergo training at FAS Training Center as usual (no contact training). This is also the first time I have more time together with the team and I can get to know them better," said Michael.

"Through this training session, players can achieve their match fitness. Apart from that, it is also done so that they better understand the philosophy of football that I want them to do on the field later,” he added after completing his monthiversary of leading the Red Giants today.

In addition to the training sessions, the initiative was also initiated to strengthen the bond among the players with several team building activities planned throughout the training camp.

"I am confident that a period of four to five days here will create a high team spirit. Players can get good cooperation between themselves and get what is needed for the Malaysia Cup tournament later," said Michael Feichtenbeiner.

FA Selangor hopes that this effort will help the main squad to get the best preparations ahead of the Malaysia Cup which is scheduled to take place throughout November.

Good luck Red Giants!
