Pre-Season: Selangor Plan 7 Friendly Matches

FAS Training Centre is lively once more with the presence of Red Giants players and coaching staff after starting the pre-season training session started on January 4.

Last Monday was the first day of official training for new Selangor players such as Shahrel Fikri, Tim Heubach, Dinesh Rajasingam, and Nik Sharif Haseefy with the rest of Red Giants for the 2021 season.

Tim Heubach is delighted to be back in football after a long break from pre-season holidays.

"This is our first exercise after a long break. Each player must find their own way to achieve their peak level. I feel ecstatic about the training and this is just the beginning, we will have a lot more to go through,” explained the towering defender.

Apart from Tim, the new Red Giants striker, Shahrel Fikri also expressed his excitement after being able to train with his teammates and a new line-up of coaches.

“I am excited to meet new friends, new coaches, new import players, and a few old friends during recent training. Although I can't wait to get back to training, I admit that I felt a little bit nervous," said Shahrel.

Apart from the players, Selangor FC's new gaffer, Karsten Neitzel is excited about the quality possessed by his team on the first day of training apart from sharing the team's pre-season plans.

"They showed a good attitude and they also enjoyed the training program. I can see good quality from them even though this is just the first time to handle them," said the German head coach.

"I hope the players will reach their best before the season start and train without any injuries. I want them to be transparent with me if they have a problem, I prefer them not to hide it from me.”

"We plan to have seven pre-season friendly matches as well as a training camp before the league starts. Selangor FC management has been given us a good opportunity to prepare for this season and we will use it to the fullest,” said Karsten before concluding the interview with Media Selangor FC.

Selangor FC appreciates the positive atmosphere in Selangor camp as we prepare for the 2021 season. Welcome back and best of luck, Red Giants!
