MBSA Signs Strategic Partnership With Selangor FC

Selangor Football Club, Selangor FC announced a strategic partnership with Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) after the signing of the partnership agreement between the two parties earlier today.

The small ceremony which took place at the FAS Training Center, Shah Alam was also witnessed by the Chairman of Selangor FC, His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and YBhg. Dato’ Haji Haris bin Kasim, Mayor of Shah Alam.

The partnership sees MBSA contributing a fund of RM500,000 as sponsorship to Selangor FC as the team prepares for the upcoming 2021 season.

The deal will also see the City Council channel their expertise, logistics, facilities as well as efforts to strengthen football at the grassroots level in the state of Selangor.

MBSA is also one of the entities that have supported many efforts to develop football in the state through the involvement of their football team that competes in state-level leagues as well as football academies that pay a lot of attention to grassroots development.

According to YBhg. Dato' Haji Haris bin Kasim, "The close cooperation between Selangor FC and MBSA has long been established. In fact, the city of Shah Alam is also quite synonymous as home to the Red Giants team. Therefore, MBSA wishes to play a role as one of the strategic partners for the Selangor team.”

Dato' Haji Haris bin Kasim further explained, "Under the leadership of DYTM Tengku Amir Shah, we hope Selangor FC will use this contribution well and it will encourage the Red Giants players to give their best for the team. We also want to bring ourselves closer to the people of Shah Alam, who are mostly hardcore supporters of the Selangor.”

Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, CEO of Selangor FC also gave a similar tone and agreed that this cooperation will have a positive impact on both entities.

Speaking to SFC Media, Dr. Johan thanked MBSA for this strategic collaboration and hoped that more other corporate entities would also come forward to restore the glory days of the Red Giants.

"Selangor FC is grateful for the cash contribution, expertise, and logistics provided by MBSA and of course this contribution will further improve the preparation of the Selangor team including the elite football development for the 2021 season, especially after the team has been privatized as a professional football team since last December," added Dr. Johan.

Meanwhile, the Selangor team is currently preparing themselves during this pre-season time with a series of friendly matches being planned before the Super League 2021 commences at the end of this February.
