Selangor 2 Welcomes Ghanian Duo As Preparation Continues

Pre-seasonal preparations for the Selangor 2, Presiden, and Belia squad which have started since early January are still taking place online, despite the state is undergoing the implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO).

The three teams have also undergone several basic fitness tests such as Sprint Test, Yo-yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 2, One Rep Max, and Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to test the ability of the players before proceeding with further preparations under the new direction of Selangor FC philosophy.

These development teams are among the earliest teams to be injected with the new football DNA since last season making Selangor Technical Director, Michael Feichtenbeiner feel that this is the best opportunity for his coaching team to enhance the philosophy in more detail.

"The line-up of coaches and players from Selangor 2, the President, and the Youth have gained understanding and adaptation in the DNA of Selangor FC from the very beginning. This season is the best opportunity to apply further and bring it to the next level," said Michael when asked about this season's plans for the development squad.

"If they can accept this football philosophy well, hopefully, one day they will get the opportunity to play at a higher level. This is why Selangor FC DNA was created in the first place," he added.

While the pre-season preparations are in full swing, the Selangor 2 squad is further strengthened with the participation of two imported players from the Accra Lions FC on loan, George Attram, 20 years old, and Jordan Ayimbila, 19 years old who arrived and completed the quarantine on January 11.

According to Michael, he is confident that both the striker and the central defender will be able to adapt to the DNA of Selangor FC.

"I am happy that both of them want to join Selangor FC and this is an opportunity for them to develop a football career here. Red Giants FC not only wants to produce great local talent for the Super League but also imported players," said Michael.

"Accra Lions FC head coach Rainer Kraft Accra is my acquaintance. The team has produced many young African players playing in European and Middle Eastern clubs. So I am sure there will be no problem for George and Jordan to adapt to our football DNA."

"For me, this is a great opportunity in the football business. If they can develop their talent well here when they are ready, Selangor FC will market them if their services are needed by other big teams," said Michael.

"This is not only good for the future of the club, but it will also open up new opportunities for them as professional football players at a higher level."

Selangor FC welcomes George Attram and Jordan Ayimbila to the Selangor 2 team and good luck for the Selangor 2 squad, President and Youth 2021.
