Selangor FC Supports MBI (Selangor) To Uplift Selangor Career Initiative 2021


Employment Insurance System (SIP) last year recorded more than 100,000 workers were laid off due to the effects of COVID-19 in Malaysia. In fact, the figure is seen to continue to grow after the implementation of PKP 2.0  earlier this month.

Thus, the efforts of the Selangor state government, through the MBI Selangor, have taken proactive steps to help the Selangorians affected by this pandemic are also supported by Selangor FC. The Inisiatif Selangor Kerjaya (Selangor Career Initiative) will be launched live via MBI Selangor’s Facebook page and Media Selangor platform on this 26th January 2021 at 2.30 pm by Dato 'Menteri Besar of Selangor, YAB Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari.

The initiative, which will offer more than 10,000 job opportunities, aims to provide new career offers for Selangor residents through the learning of new skills, upskill and reskill program, besides being part of efforts to reduce the unemployment rate in the state.

Through this Selangor Career initiative, all registered candidates will undergo a profile evaluation and career matching before the real hiring takes place. The program will also provide direct industry exposure and experience through on-the-job training, free of charge.

As one of the leading strategic partners of the Red Giants, Selangor FC will also announce the MBI’s career platform through their digital assets to the Selangor’s supporters.

According to MBI sources, the cooperation between the corporate body and Selangor FC is seen as an important strategic step because the club has a large following, especially among the youth.

In fact, Selangor FC players also generally have their own voice which is seen to be able to extend this message effectively to the Red and Yellow fans.

Through this collaboration, the Selangor Career initiative will be more inclusive and the message it is trying to convey will be more widespread, especially among the youths in Selangor who are looking for new sources of income.

"Selangor FC is committed to providing good added value to our strategic partner, MBI through the collaboration for this Selangor Career initiative, besides wanting to be a catalyst for Red Giants supporters to have a better life," explained Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief of Executive Officer (CEO) of Selangor FC.

"We understand that many people in this country are affected by the source of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So, when the Selangor state government, through MBI organizes this initiative, we feel called to announce this good effort to the Selangor supporters themselves. ”

"Perhaps, there are some of our supporters who need new jobs in this difficult time, so with our participation, some of these initiatives will provide new opportunities for them," added Dr. Johan.
