Selangor FC officially launched the Home jersey for the 2021 season digitally on all Red Giants’ social media platforms earlier today.

"Mokhtar Dahari Legacy" became a key element in this year's Home jersey design. It is inspired by the late Mokhtar Dahari who is also known as SuperMokh, one of the most respected Selangor legends, as well as a Malaysian football icon to this day.

Inspired by the design of the jersey worn only once by Selangor during the Malaysia Cup final in 1986, Mokhtar was the key player of the winning team that clinched their 27th Malaysia Cup title that year.

This Home 2021 jersey still retains some important elements from the 1986 jersey. Among them is the jersey color where the red, yellow, and green colors which were taken from the flag of the Raja Muda of Selangor, in the honor of DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, His Royal Highness the Raja Muda of Selangor of that time, and the number one supporter of the Selangor team.

Apart from that, the position of the Selangor FC emblem is also placed on the right side of the chest like the original jersey to highlight the retro element of the home jersey this season.

Although the theme and concept of the Home 2021 jersey are based on retro elements, there are some modern elements to fit a more contemporary design. One of the biggest differences between the 2021 season jersey and the original jersey is the floral motif decoration in the yellow part of the jersey which symbolizes the official flower of Selangor, Bunga Tanjung (mimusops elengi).

In addition, the 2021 season edition also has a red and yellow quarterfly flag on the chest and ribbon written: "85 Years Creating A Legacy" embedded on the back of the collar, in conjunction with the 85th anniversary of the founding of this football team.

A special ‘SuperMokh’ emblem is also immortalized on the back of the Home jersey this season as a token of appreciation to the late Mokhtar Dahari who wore this jersey while lifting his last championship with the Selangor team.

After receiving a warm response when they released the maroon Home jersey as a symbol of the merger between FA Selangor and PKNS FC last year, the management of Selangor FC has decided to make a difference this year as well by choosing yellow as the main color of the Home jersey after for a long time it was not used as the main color of the Selangor team Home jersey.

The management of Selangor FC hopes that the Home jersey for the new season with the legacy of the late Mokhtar Dahari and the 1986 Selangor squad theme can bring out the champion aura within the team, as well as inspire all Selangor FC stakeholders to keep striving on bringing some silverware back to Shah Alam.

This symbolic and historic retro jersey can now be purchased at SelangorFC.com for RM109 for the player edition and the fans edition will only be released after the Chinese New Year celebration. Selangor supporters who are registered as holders of the Red Giants Team Card 2021 will receive a 10% discount on every jersey purchase this year.
