Myanmar Wonderkid Completes Selangor 2 Import Lineup

Earlier yesterday, Kementerian Dalam Negeri (Ministry of Home Affairs) allowed a centralized training program for few sports including football to be conducted starting from next week.

As soon as this good news was announced, Selangor FC coaches and technical officers drafted detailed plans to prepare the squad for the upcoming season, as the previous preseason plans were halted due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) being implemented.

All Selangor FC teams (youth to main squad) will commence their training as usual this Monday, in line with the date and SOP drawn by the government, Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and the league organizer, Malaysian Football League (MFL).

Moreover, the team will have to reschedule their pre-season plan and make the best of the little time they have before the league kicks off in the first week of March.

As the preparation continues, Selangor 2 is also officially announcing their last import player for the 2021 season, Hein Htet Aung from Myanmar.

Better known as Hein, the young lad who plays for the Myanmar U-18, U-19, U-21 & U-23 squad has signed with the Red Giants until the 2023 season.

The 19 year old has played with the Myanmar Premier League 2020 runner up, Hantharwady United FC since 2019 and has made 28 appearances and bagged 4 goals along the way. He was named as the player with most assists (9) in ASEAN domestic leagues in 2020, according to theaseanfootball portal.

According to Selangor Technical Director, Michael Feichtenbeiner, the right-wing player is one of the best upcoming talents from Myanmar and believes Hein will be able to adapt to the DNA of Selangor FC.

"I’m glad that he wants to join Selangor FC. This is his opportunity to develop his football career. Red Giants not only want to produce great local talent for the Super League, but also develop the talent of import players," said Michael.

"Hein, George (Attram) and Jordan (Ayimbila) will also be the auxiliary players for the import slots in the Selangor main team if necessary. This will also open up new opportunities for them as professional football players to play at a higher level," he added before concluding the interview.

Selangor FC welcomes Hein Htet Aung to the Selangor 2 team and wishes him the best of luck for the upcoming new season.
