Selangor Aims To Grab Another Win Against Melaka United

With three valuable points grabbed last week, Selangor FC team will visit the Hang Jebat Stadium, Paya Rumput tonight for the next league match against Melaka United FC at 10 pm. This match was the first of five matches played in Ramadan, before the league took a break.

For the record, the last meeting between the two teams in the Super 2020 League ended with a 1-1 draw at the UiTM Stadium, with goals from Uche Agba (Melaka United) and Sandro Da Silva (Selangor FC).

Last week's victory against Perak FC will definitely raise the spirits of the Red Giants to continue the good momentum as well as showing more improvements for tonight's match.

According to Karsten Neitzel, the head coach of Selangor FC, the team is in good motivation during the preparations for tonight's match and will repair the weaknesses detected so far this season.

"For me, the most important thing is that we have completed the recovery session and we've analyzed the opponent's gameplan. The players are well motivated and they are fully committed as before in the completing the match preparations."

“We will take the positive things from the previous matches and will continue our style of play, besides fixing the weaknesses that need to be improved,” the German explained.

Karsten looks up to the abilities of Melaka United, but will ensure that his boys fight as best they can to bring home 3 points from the Hang Jebat Stadium.

"Melaka is a team that has a good game and we can see that. Like many other teams in Malaysia, this team has a towering central striker and and pacey wingers."

"We acknowledge their greatness, but again the main focus is our own performances and for that, we need to play better than them and grab the win."

For player's availibility, four Red Giants players could not be listed for this match such as Nik Sharif Haseefy (ankle injury), Halim Saari (ACL), Wan Zack Haikal (right knee injury) and Tim Heubach. (Read more about their injury update here bit.do/InfoKecederaan)

The Red Giants are currently sitting at the sixth spot in the Super League 2021 with 11 points accumulated as a result of three wins, two draws and two defeats, while Melaka United FC is in 9th place with a total of 7 points accumulated. Tonight's win will see Selangor leapfrog KL City FC onto the fifth place in the league.

Hopefully, Selangor FC can bring home three full points tonight and maintain the winning momentum until the end of the 2021 Super League.

Keep on fighting, Red Giants!
