Three Fresh Faces Joined Red Giants Camp Based Training

Earlier this week, Selangor FC has started their camp-based training sessions during the 14-day implementation of the Movement Control Order (PKP) after the Malaysia League team received permission from the government on 28 May 2021.

After almost a month of training online session, this training sees the coaches, officers, and players of the Red Giants were placed in a hotel near the FAS Training Center in accordance with the guidelines set by the MKN (National Security Council), MSN (National Sports Council) and MFL (Malaysia Football League).

However, the Selangor camp this time is a little different with the absence of 5 players such as Khairulazhan Khalid, Brendan Gan, and Syahmi Safari who are traveling with the national team as well as two players who are still undergoing rehabilitation sessions, Halim Saari and Shahrel Fikri.

According to Selangor FC Head Coach, Karsten Neitzel, their absence was very much felt and he had absorbed several players from Selangor FC 2 to conduct the training sessions.

“The absence of those 5 players honestly felt. I needed at least 25 players and three goalkeepers to run training as planned,” Karsten explained.

"After discussing, apart from Hein Htet Aung who has played in two Super League matches recently, we also absorbed three high potential players from the Selangor FC 2 team, namely George Attram (striker), Shivan Pillay (midfielder) and Aqil Fadhly (goalkeeper) will help the main team to train as usual."

The absorbed Selangor FC 2 players are seen to have the ability to play in higher level matches such as the Super League, after showing their potential in the Premier League under the guidance of Michael Feichtenbeiner.

Karsten is also delighted about the return of Nik Sharif and Tim Heubach, who have recovered from injuries they suffered a few months ago.

"Nik Sharif will rejoin the team after a long recovery session. I can't wait to see his true ability and I'm sure he has been waiting a long time to train with the team," said Karsten.

"Let's not forget Tim Heubach who has been back to training for more than a few weeks, undergoing the program provided with the other players during the early league break."

"Selangor FC has a good mix of experienced players and young players. For me, it is good enough to build a team that can play well in the long run. However, we have to trust the process and I am really confident with this team. "
Selangor FC wishes the Red Giants a happy return to training. Hopefully, the team will continue to train for the M League to resume next month.

Further developments on the main team of Selangor FC will be updated and informed from time to time.
