Karsten Admits Silver Lining In Camp-Based Training Session

Selangor FC players and officials are currently ‘camping’ in a hotel near FAS Training Center, Shah Alam as they going through their camp-based training for the past two weeks as per the guidelines set by the MKN (National Security Council), MSN (National Sports Council) and MFL (Malaysia Football League).

Karsten Neitzel, head coach of Selangor FC, shared his opinion on the differences and challenges of undergoing ‘camp-based training after a few weeks of facing it.

‘The camp-based training and our normal training sessions are not very different. Now, we are gathered in one place and can spend more time together as a team, compared to when they can go back to their respective homes. "

"We (coaches) have made a schedule to make the best use of the time available. Among the time used are video sessions and individual discussions with the players. This will help them to know what they need to improve, in order to get better gameplay for themself and the team," added the German.

"The challenge of undergoing this 'camp-based training is to avoid any injuries from the intensive training conducted in accordance with the SOPs. This is vital to ensure that the players are ready for the upcoming match which will resume in July."
