Coach Karsten: We Want To Keep Winning

Selangor FC will resume their 2021 Super League journey tonight by hosting Melaka United FC at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 9 pm.

For the record, the last meeting between the two teams was in the first round of the 2021 Super League ended with a 3-2 victory for the Red Giants at the Hang Jebat Stadium with a brace from Ifedayo Olusegun and a volley by Syahmi Safari in the dying minutes of the match.

Last week's victory will definitely lift the spirits of the Red Giants to continue the good momentum as well as show an exciting action in this match.

According to Karsten Neitzel, the head coach of Selangor FC is happy with the achievements of his players who did not waste the opportunities in front of the goal and wanted his team to continue to show their best performance in grabbing the next three points.

"The players are in very good motivation and I am very happy with the performance they have done on the field despite a lot that needs to be improved. But, they have done their best to continue the momentum of the recent victory."

"Besides that, the coaching staff has also made preparations for the players to correct weaknesses and mistakes made in previous matches. I am confident we will be able to improve those aspects with the time given," added Coach Karsten.

"The most important thing is to focus on the progress of the team and themselves (the players). For me, if we are able to win the previous game then it is not impossible to get a win for tonight's match."

As for the players' availability, Selangor FC cannot field their young central defender, Sharul Nazeem who is undergoing suspension after collecting three yellow cards and is still unable to include Tim Heubach in the squad who are still recovering.

Meanwhile, three other Red Giants key players; Halim Saari, Shahrel Fikri, and team captain Brendan Gan are also still undergoing long-term rehabilitation sessions and are expected to return to the team after the end of the season.

Selangor supporters, however, can breathe a sigh of relief as their hot prospect midfielder, Aliff Haiqal Lau has returned to undergo training sessions and preparations for tonight's match.

Melaka United FC is currently ranked 9th in the league with 17 points, while the Red Giants team is ranked 5th in the league with 32 points from eight wins, five draws, and five losses.

Tonight's win will challenge Penang FC's fourth place in the league this week.

Hopefully, Selangor FC will grab the next three points tonight. Come on Red Giant!

Demi kebanggaan.
