Ten Selangor FC 2 players, Faiz Amer (18 years old), Khairi Suffian (18 years old), Azrin Afiq (19 years old), Fahmi Daniel (19 years old), Izzul Adham (19 years old), Sikh Izhan (19 years old), Iqmal Ramlan (20 years old), Firdaus Irman (20 years old), Saravanan Thirumurugan (20 years old) and Saiful Iskandar (22 years old) has received their Under-23 squad call ups to join the national training camp Phase 1 at the PKNS Sports Complex, Kelana Jaya.
For the record, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to send a group of players under the age of 20 under the guidance of head coach Brad Maloney as well as some additional senior players born no later than 1999 according to the conditions set.
The training session will last for nine days until September 7 to make initial preparations for the B-23 2022 Asian Cup Qualifiers group J meet Laos, Thailand, and hosts Mongolia, from October 27 to 31.
A total of 11 champions from each group will be joined by the four best second-place teams of the group and also the host, Uzbekistan to complete the list of 16 teams that will play in the B-23 2022 Asian Cup scheduled to take place in Tashkent next year.
However, the young Red Giants goalkeeper, Sikh Izhan Nazrel was unable to participate in this central training due to injury.
