Red Giants’ are pleased to officially announce the signing of Jordanian defender Yazan Al-Arab today, as our first new import player that will play in the 2022 Malaysia Super League season.
Born and raised in Russeifa, Jordan, the player made his first appearance with his home country’s senior team on August 29, 2017 at the age of 21 and has managed to reach 24 matches so far to date.
Selangor FC head coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner is confident the 25 year old center back will be able to make an impact to our defensive line with the advantages he possesses.
"I was very impressed with his performance after watching his match (for the first time) with the Jordan international team. Starting that day, we (the Selangor FC coaching staff) watched him very closely and we started a personal conversation until we finally signed him.
"Yazan has played in top level football with his club and national team. He has a strong physique and is very good in the air.
"He is a center back with a dominant left foot and this will be a good addition to pair up with our other center defenders who are mostly right footed. He will be an interesting new character in this team," he said.
The 186cm-tall player expressed that he is happy and looks forward to playing with the Red Giants team.
He adds, “I am very happy to join Selangor FC & excited to meet the people at the club, as well as the fans.I strive to be a part of a competitive team next season and I will do my best so that the name of Selangor will return to become title challengers!”
Selangor FC welcomes Yazan Al-Arab. Hopefully, he can strengthen the Red Giants' defense for the Malaysian League this season.
Yazan is the second player to be introduced to join the first team after Selangor FC introduced player Samuel Somerville yesterday.
Let’s fight together, Yazan!
