Selangor FC 2 Welcome Richmond Tetteh To The Team

Richmond Tetteh Ankrah or better known as Richmond has already undergone his first training session at Selangor FC replacing Jordan Ayimbila who spread his wings in the USL Championship recently after playing brilliantly with the Red Giants last season.

The 190 cm tall player is another young player and is also the team captain from Accra Lions FC who moved to Malaysia to play at a higher level with the Selangor FC team.

He is the fifth young import to have signed with the Red Giants feeder team following Hein Htet Aung and three of his teammates, also from Accra Lions FC, George Attram, Jordan Ayimbila and Alexander Agyarkwa.

Selangor FC head coach Michael Feichtenbeiner is excited about the arrival of Richmond, "I was quite impressed with his performance in previous seasons, watching him for almost two seasons. Last season, Accra Lions FC was promoted to the First Division and he was the team captain, which shows he has good leadership qualities as well as good skills on the field,"

"He is also a very capable central defender. I am sure he will help the team when given the opportunity. In the meantime, he will play with the Selangor FC 2 team first, as an exposure to the Malaysia League scene, to ensure he can adapt to being in this country."

According to Michael, Richmond's arrival is ideal with the recent departure of young import player, Jordan Ayimbila, "Richmond for me is the best replacement for Jordan Ayimbila who has signed for San Antonio after playing brilliantly with us in the Malaysian League last season. Jordan has already played with his new team in the recent USL Championship,"

"I hope other Accra Lions players like George, Alex and Richmond can show the same improvement and they can follow in the footsteps of Jordan. Not to forget, I would also like to thank the Selangor FC management for their support, as well as always giving opportunities to young players,"

The management of Selangor FC welcomes Richmond Tetteh Ankrah to the Malaysian football scene. Hopefully his presence can help the team's defensive line throughout the M League.
