Selangor FC is pleased to announce the launch of the club’s 'third-kit' for this season in collaboration with singer and songwriter, Altimet who is also a loyal supporter of the Red Giants.

This collaboration also features a special song made for Selangor FC and its supporters, by Altimet himself entitled Langgam Gendang Perang. The song has two versions; Red and Yellow, inspired by the Club’s and Altimet's work which was later translated into the 'third-kit' of Selangor FC 2022.

In an interview with Selangor FC, Altimet stated that initially his dream was to become one of the sponsors of the Red Giants, but instead become a reality through this ‘third-kit’ collaboration.

“This song was actually produced 5 years ago, but it was kept in the archive to be released at the right time. Selangor FC and the fans are the main inspiration for this work. With the help of my friend Navin who is also another Selangorian from Klang, this work Langgam Gendang Perang was produced into two versions, namely Red and Yellow ”. 

Langgam which carries the meaning of poetry or stanza is symbolic to the cheers or voices of the supporters who always roar the stadium in every football match. And, the atmosphere accompanied by drum beats to enliven the spirit of the players on the field is what combined to be the inspiration for the title of the song and this jersey.

The color of this jersey is a mixture of red and black which is also Altimet’s favorite color and also colors that are very synonymous with the Red Giants. Red is a symbol of the vibrant fighting spirit of the players on the field and is also a symbol of the spirit of the supporters who are always there standing behind the team. While the color black symbolizes the power and strength of the team and supporters who are always united in the ups and downs and bittersweetness of a struggle.

The motif on this 'third-kit' is inspired by the echoes of drum beats of the supporters. Meanwhile, another unique touch on this jersey is the Altimet’s emblem which has been specially redesigned to include SFC (Selangor FC) as a new symbol of this collaboration between Selangor FC and Altimet. On the collar of this shirt, a line from the lyrics of the song; 'Jata Atas Baju, Jati Dalam Hati' was also incorporated.

Selangor FC also sees this collaboration as a positive step in bringing the Club and supporters closer. “We hope such collaboration can unite and bring Selangor FC and its supporters closer. Our supporters come from all walks of life. In this way, we can attract more young people out there to this football team and this sport, ” said Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC.

Altimet also added, "I hope this jersey can convey to the players that we are behind them. I want this jersey to be the bridge between Selangor FC and the supporters to stay united. We must rise and rise together and this is also a sign of gratitude from me and Selangor FC to the supporters, "

The sale of this jersey is now available online on the official website of Selangor FC and followed by physical sales to be held in conjunction with the Aidilfitri 2022 Selangor FC Open House at Tanjung Karang, 29 May 2022 tomorrow from as early as 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the same time, physical sales also take place at our Official Popup Store at FAS Training Center from 11am to 5pm on the same day, Sunday 29 May 2022.
