Match Review LS12 : Selangor FC vs KL City FC | Two Points Dropped at MBPJ Stadium

The Selangor FC match against Kuala Lumpur City FC (KL City FC) ended with a 1-1 result at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya yesterday.

Among some important facts taken from yesterday's #SFCKLC match:-

  1. Sharul Nazeem maintained his stellar performance

The young defender, Sharul Nazeem or friendly known as Afro has put on a pretty brilliant performance in recent matches.

Interestingly in this match, he showed his ability as a 'commanding center back' with several important actions that managed to save the team from conceding from as early as the first minute until the final whistle was blown.

Afro has been a key player in the team since last season and has managed to nail down his place starting from the match against Kedah Darul Aman FC in the 2021 Super League. So far, he has played in 12 out of 13 matches with the Red Giants this season.

  1. Samuel Somerville continues to show his best performance

Sam continues to show the momentum of his good performance at every opportunity. He successfully read the penalty kick of KL City FC player, Romel Moralez and saved Selangor FC's goal in the 64th minute of the match.

  1. The team captain, Brendan Gan once again became the opening goal scorer of the match

Brendan Gan, who has been resting for a long time from cancer, returned to action in the match against Sarawak United and scored the opening goal of this action in the seventh minute. Likewise against KL City FC yesterday, he once again became an important character in the team by scoring an early goal that fueled the team's spirit in the 36th minute of the match.

Selangor FC hopes that the team will continue to show their best action for the upcoming matches.
