QF FA Cup Match Review : Sabah FC vs Selangor FC | See You In Semi Final!

Selangor FC advanced to the 2022 FA Cup Semi-Finals after defeating Sabah FC with an excellent performance at the Likas Stadium yesterday.

A thrilling match with attack after attack from both teams has recorded some important facts that can be highlighted, such as:-

  1. The team's defensive line displayed a disciplined action

Throughout the match it can be seen that the Red Giants' defensive line, Yazan Al-Arab, Sharul Nazeem, Quentin Cheng, Fazly Mazlan and Zikri Khalili were able to tightly control the defense with full discipline. There is not much space that the opposing team can take advantage of to try to score a goal.

Match after match, Yazan Al-Arab and Sharul Nazeem are gaining a very good understanding between the two of them as a defensive duo in ensuring that the opposing team does not penetrate Selangor FC's fortress. Praise should be given.

  1. Selangor FC's two young import players, Alexander Agyarkwa and Hein Htet Aung continued to show their excellent performance

Alexander Agyarkwa or more affectionately called Alex has been the backbone of the Red Giants midfield. He is consistent in helping the defense and attack in the middle with his best performance.

The inclusion of Hein Htet Aung in the second half has added more spices to the attacking side of the team as he often makes good runs and moves and gives space to the attacking players to finish off goals. He also almost scored a very beautiful goal in yesterday's game but it was disallowed because of offside. However, credit is due for his hard work.

  1. Some Selangor FC statistical records in the 2022 FA Cup

      A) Samuel Somerville and the Red Giants' defensive line third 'cleansheet' in FA Cup 2022.

    B) Nine goals have been scored so far in the FA Cup this season. Four goals were scored by Herlison Caion, two from Hyuri Henrique, one goal from Safuwan Baharudin, Syahir Bashah and Aliff Haiqal Lau.

      C) Zikri Khalili, the young left defender of the Red Giants has recorded his first 'Assist' in the competition.

  1. The spirit of fighting with the Selangor FC team

Yesterday's match showed the fighting spirit of the team in ensuring that the Red Giants advance to the FA Cup Semi Finals. From the goalkeeper, the defenders, midfielder and the forward line have carried out their respective duties brilliantly. Not to forget the coaching line that has planned a strategy for the players to perform well in this match.

Selangor FC hopes that the team will be able to continue to show their best action consistently in the next match. Fight Red Giants Fight!
