Selangor FC will be up against visitors, Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) at 9PM tonight in the 14th week of the Malaysian Super League 2022 at Stadium MBPJ, Kelana Jaya.
Tonight will be the 100th match between the Red Giants and The Jangs. Out of 99 matches, Selangor FC has beaten NSFC in 61 matches.
According to the team's Head Coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner, he wants the players to look forward and move on from the last game by fighting as hard as possible tonight.
"We have to admit and accept with open arms the defeat of the last game. We were punished for not finishing our chances. Things like this happen all the time in football.
"That being said, the players need to rise up to the challenge and get a win tonight by converting our efforts on goal better," he said.
In terms of player availability for today's Super League match, the Selangor FC team will still be without the services of R. Dinesh who is in the recovery phase from his 'anterior cruciate ligament' (ACL) injury and Safuwan Baharudin, as a result of his 'mild traumatic brain injury'.
In addition, Shahrel Fikri is also unable to join the team tonight due to a recent hamstring injury he sustained.
However, the Red Giants supporters can be delighted with the return of Zikri Khalili and Muhkhairi Ajmal to the team after being suspended for the match against Sri Pahang FC from their red card and three yellow cards collected respectively.
Selangor FC hopes that the team will rise and continue to move forward. Come on, Red Giants!
