Selangor U19 team successfully advanced to the 2022 Youth Cup Final after defeating PJ City U19 2-0 at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya in the Second Leg Semi-Final just now.

The squad managed by Firdaus Tan has led the Group B of the Youth Cup earlier with 26 accumulated points from eight wins, two draws and one loss before advancing to the knockout rounds.

Selangor U19 then qualified for the next stage when they met AMD U16 in the Youth Cup Quarter Finals. This young Selangor squad has shown true character and spirit despite losing the First Leg of the Quarter Final match 1-3, they managed to bounce back in the Second Leg Quarter Final with a big goal margin of 7-0. A stylish victory with an aggregate of 8-3 has been a source of inspiration to take them to the Semi-Final stage which has seen them beating PJ City U19 with an aggregate of 2-0 today.

According to the Head Coach of Selangor U19, Firdaus Tan, the true spirit of the players who want to go to the final stage can be seen on the field just now. 

"Alhamdulillah, Allah allowed us to get to the finals through the efforts of the players. They showed a high spirit to reach the final by giving one hundred percent on the field and accordingly followed our tactics and strategies. The hard work and cooperation between the players, officials and the coaching staff has helped the team to reach this level," said Firdaus Tan.

The Selangor U19 team will face Sri Pahang U19 team in the 2022 Youth Cup Finals on August 19 and 26.

Before ending the conversation, Firdaus Tan added, "I hope that the Selangor supporters can attend the 2022 Youth Cup Final to further fuel the spirit of our young players," he hoped.
