LS18 Match Review: Sabah FC vs Selangor FC | First Win Under Nidzam Jamil!

Selangor FC team successfully brought home three valuable points after defeating The Rhinos 3-2 at Likas Stadium yesterday.

This was the first win in four matches under the Red Giants Interim Head Coach, Nidzam Jamil since the beginning of last August.

Here are some key takeaways from last night’s competitive match :-

1. MOTM: Hein Htet Aung

The young import player who is known for his high work-rate in every match. Last night, he was one of the players who was heavily involved in the attacks, especially threatening on the right side of the field.

Hein finally got his reward scoring his first goal with the team in the 2022 Super League competition in the 76th minute of the match after making several attempts. A beautiful pass from Aliff Haiqal Lau helped Hein score the winning goal for the Red Giants yesterday.

2. Two goals in one minute

Young key player of Selangor FC, Mukhairi Ajmal scored the first goal of #SABSFC in the 23rd minute of the match by shooting from outside the penalty box. This amazing long-range effort came after several attempts to score.

The second goal was scored shortly after as a result of good ball-control from Herlison Caion linking up well with Brendan Gan unselfishly setting him up in front of goal to increase the visiting team’s lead.

3. Substitutions that help the team in the second half

Harith Haiqal and Ashmawi Yakin were brought in the second half to add energy to the Selangor defense and help out defending until the final whistle. The defensive line was more disciplined in the second half, with less mistakes being made. Credit should also be given to Zikri Khalili and Richmond Ankrah with their good performances in helping to break the opposition's attack.

In addition, the introduction of Aliff Haiqal Lau made a huge impact especially in attack as he was immediately involved as soon as he entered the field by making an attempt that almost put the team in front. His beautiful pass to Hein Htet Aung helped the team take home three valuable points yesterday.

The changes made by Head Coach, Nidzam Jamil was seen to be very effective and helped him get his first three points.

Credit must go to all the players who performed well in yesterday's game.

Congratulations to the Selangor FC team. We hope to continue this good momentum until the end of the Malaysian League season 2022.

Demi Kebanggaan.
