LS19 Match Review : Selangor FC vs Melaka United FC | Big Win For TCH

Red Giants emerged victorious last night during the last home match of the 2022 Super League after beating Melaka United FC 5-0 at the MBPJ Stadium yesterday.

This was the team's first match and win under the new Head Coach, Tan Cheng Hoe who was appointed on the 24th September.

According to him, this big win is a good start but was quick to remind the team that there is still room for improvement.

However, for Tan Cheng Hoe, it is too early for him to determine the starting line-up but what he sees is that all the available players have their own qualities and are able to make an impact.

Based on yesterday's match, here were a few takeaways:-

1. Brendan Gan emerged as the #MOTM

The captain of the team who always gives everything on the field scored two of the five goals yesterday in the 66th and 78th minutes of the match.

So far, for the record, Brendan has scored five goals and one assist since returning to the team after recovering from Cancer.

2. A disciplined defensive line

The two central defenders, Yazan Al-Arab and Sharul Nazeem are seen to have excellent communication between them, together with Fazly Mazlan and Quentin Cheng managing to  keep the defense strong throughout the match. This is the sixth clean sheet for the defensive line this season.

3. Selection of impactful substitution players

Three attacking players namely Danial Asri, Aliff Haiqal and Shahrel Fikri were subbed in to add more attacking power. Numerous attempts were made and were rewarded finally with three goals scored after their introduction.

Not to forget the inclusion of Baha' Abdelrahman and Harith Haiqal, who helped make sure the team did not concede until the final whistle.

Overall, kudos to all the players who fought in yesterday's game. They have given their best to get a big win and without conceding.

Selangor FC congratulates the team. Hopefully the team will continue to fight brilliantly until the end of the M League this season.

Demi Kebanggaan.
