Match Review LS21: Sarawak United FC vs Selangor FC | Hein Htet Aung With The Winner

The team managed to bring home three valuable points after beating Sarawak United 1-0 at the State Stadium yesterday.

This was the team's third win in as many matches under the new Head Coach of the Red Giants, as he was brought in early to give himself ample time to evaluate the players in preparations for next season.

Based on yesterday's match, some important things can be noted, such as:-

1. The one and only goal scorer emerged as the #MOTM

Hein Htet Aung, Selangor FC's young player, continues his good run of form in helping the team in the 71st minute of the match, scoring the only goal of this match, subsequently resulting in our eighth victory of the season in Liga Super 2022.

2. Clean sheet record for Samuel Somerville

Sam made a few brilliant saves for the team in yesterday's match. For the record, this is his seventh clean sheet with the Selangor FC team this season.

That being said, the clean sheet would also not have happened without Selangor FC's defensive line which is slowly turning out to be improving game after game.

3. Substitute players who make an impact on the team

Danial Asri once again proved his ability, especially in pressing to disrupt the opponent's defensive line while attacking. His inclusion has had a high impact by always being an attacking threat to the opponent.

Besides that, Alex Agyarkwa also made an impact coming off from the bench in the second half after registering an assist that led to the winning goal.

4. Selangor FC jumped to fifth place

The team managed to jump to fifth place in the Super League 2022 competition after three consecutive victories. The players seem to be adapting well to the philosophy under the new manager of the Red Giants, Tan Cheng Hoe. This understanding has helped the team to win without conceding three times in a row.

In addition, if Selangor FC remains in fifth place when the league concludes, the team will likely face Kelantan United FC in the TM Malaysia Cup competition that will start soon.

Overall, credit should go to all the players who fought admirably in yesterday's game.

Selangor FC congratulates the team. Hopefully the team can end the 2022 Super League well for the last match against Penang FC this Saturday.

Demi Kebanggaan.
