Selangor FC confirmed their progress to the 2022 TM Malaysia Cup Quarter Finals after successfully recording a 1-0 victory (3-0 on aggregate) in the second leg match of the round of 16 last night at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya.

With two goals advantage, the Red Giants made two changes to the starting line-up with the return of Sharul Nazeem after being suspended for a match and Kelvin Kyei who was rewarded by Head Coach Tan Cheng Hoe to start the match after performing well in the first match in Kota Bharu previously.

Towards the end of the match, Selangor were awarded a free kick just outside the Kelantan United penalty box area. Mukhairi Ajmal who took the kick managed to make a dangerous cross which caused the opposing player, Nik Akif Syahiran to head the ball into his own net in the 90th minute and the score remained 1-0 until the end.
