The National Team will face Singapore in the Mitsubishi Electric AFF Cup 2022 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium at 8:30PM tonight. 

Tonight will be the deciding match to determine the team’s final placing in Group B between Singapore and Malaysia that will subsequently decide who goes through the next round. So far Harimau Malaya has collected six points from two wins over Myanmar (3-0) and Laos (5-1) and one defeat against Vietnam (3-0).

Ten Selangor FC players, Brendan Gan, Hakim Hassan, Fazly Mazlan, Quentin Cheng, Sharul Nazeem, Aliff Haiqal Lau and Mukhairi Ajmal will be joined by three new players Khuzaimi Piee, Faisal Halim and Ruventhiran, who have all made at least one appearance during the Mitsubishi Electric AFF Cup 2022.

Hakim Hassan, four years after making his last appearance with Harimau Malaya, is now one of the players that has been involved with several goals, and is confident that the National team will give their best for Malaysia.

"Alhamdulillah, I was lucky to be able to play with the national team and assist some goals recently. Even though my teammates and I have to be away from our wife and children, representing the country is a huge responsibility and this experience has helped me to continue to reach a higher level.

"Tonight's match is very important for us (Malaysia) and is a must win in order for us to grab the second place in Group B. I am sure all the players are eager to give their best and bring victory at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium tonight, InshaaAllah," said Hakim.

Apart from those with the Malaysian team, the Selangor FC players will begin official training for the season 2023 at the FAS Training Center on January 5th. Stay tuned for team updates on Red Giant's social media page from time to time.
