Selangor FC's preseason officially started last week in preparation for the 2023 Malaysian League.

This season, the Red Giants will continue to stand strong under the management of Head Coach Tan Cheng Hoe, along with the coaching staff and officials who will be helping the team throughout the three competitions, namely the 2023 Super League, the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup.

As for the coaching line up, Selangor FC has retained the services of Nidzam Jamil as Assistant Head Coach and Arulchelvan Illenggo as Fitness Coach after displaying a high level of commitment and reliable guidance shown by them last season.

In addition, the Red Giants club has signed a new second Assistant Head Coach who has managed a team in the Malaysian Football scene and has extensive experience in Europe, Ramón Marcote Pequeño.

Marcote previously worked with Selangor FC's Head Coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, in 2015 as a Fitness Coach and his name is very synonymous among fans of Kedah Darul Aman FC.

Marcote, who owns a UEFA Pro coaching license, was the former manager of Atletico Madrid's development squad in 2016/2017. In addition, he has also guided the under 15 youth squad of the giant club in Saudi Arabia, Al Hilal in 2021/2022 before going to Ethnikos Achnas in Cyprus as a coach.

Nidzam Jamil and Ramón Marcote will work together to help Tan Cheng Hoe to strategize and improve the weaknesses and strengthen the team to face the 2023 Malaysian League.

At the same time, Selangor FC has also brought in another new face to the Red Giants the coaching line up, Fouzi Mukhlas, who will be this season’s Goalkeeper Coach.
