The Red Giants today officially announced Rauf Salifu, an experienced player who played in the MLS Next Pro League of the United States, as the second import player to face the Malaysian League competition for the upcoming 2023 season.

Born in Accra, Ghana, this player has played for his hometown club, Accra Lions FC from 2018 until 2021. He managed to record an incredible feat in season 2020-2021 by scoring 21 out of 58 goals for Accra Lions FC in 28 matches, thereby helping his team to qualify for the Ghana Premier League (the premier league) from the country's second division league.

According to the official MLS NEXT Pro page, in July, Salifu booked his name as the first player in the history of the league to score four goals in one game.

After a season in the United States, Malaysia became the latest destination for this 21-year-old young player. With his presence at Red Giants, he intends to not disappoint Selangor FC supporters and teammates.

"This is my first time in Asia. The weather in Malaysia is similar to Ghana, so I'm sure this will help me to adapt quickly here.

I see that Selangor FC has a lot of supporters, which is one of the reasons why I chose to come here. For that, I will try to make them proud of this club and not let them down," the wish of Selangor FC's new imported young player.

Salifu will join the Red Giants camp and start his first official training today with his new teammates.

Selangor FC welcomes Rauf Salifu. Hopefully he can strengthen our attacking front for the 2023 Malaysian League season which will start soon.
