The Klang derby against KL City FC resulted in a 3-1 victory for Selangor FC in the sixth match of the 2023 Super League at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras.

Tan Cheng Hoe, Head Coach of Selangor FC, stated that the players worked hard to win the Klang Valley Derby.

“This is the Klang Valley Derby match, and it will undoubtedly be a challenging encounter. Three points yesterday were critical for us to enhance team confidence and morale.

The team was only able to train together with a significant number of players in the final two days, so our position was not easy, but the players knew what their tasks were and understood what I wanted, which made our job as coaches easier. Overall, I congratulate the guys because they fought hard to get this victory," Tan Cheng Hoe said.

Ayron added two personal goals.

Ayron Del Valle, Selangor FC's new import striker, scored two personal goals yesterday, one in the penalty shootout and one in the match. This is also his fourth goal for the Red Giants.

Faisal Halim continues to contribute to the team.

Faisal Halim, the player who contributed in every match, scored his first goal in the 41st minute of the game on a penalty kick. As a fairly athletic winger, he had previously contributed four goal assists. Faisal will, on average, improve on his personal best in every game.

Khairulazhan Khalid continues to excel.

According to yesterday's game, Khairulazhan brilliantly saved the team's goal from hazardous KL City efforts.

Brendan Gan, Yazan Al-Arab, Faisal Halim, and Quentin Cheng deserve some recognition.

On March 30, the day before the match, these National players had just returned home. They continued to perform despite the fact that they had only recently returned to the Red Giants camp. Their tenacity should be rewarded.
