Red Giants Players Represent The Country For SEA Games 2023

Six Selangor FC young players, Mukhairi Ajmal, Ruventhiran, Syahir Bashah, Harith Haiqal, Zikri Khalili and Izwan Yuslan will play for Harimau Malaya in the 2023 SEA Games tournament in Phnom Penh, Cambodia which will start tonight against Laos at 8pm.

The national junior squad will compete against Laos (May 3), Thailand (May 6), Vietnam (May 8) and Singapore (May 11) in Group B before the knockout stages. If successful, Malaysia will play in the semi-finals on May 13, while the final and the third and fourth place will take place on May 16.

"I hope all the players will give one hundred percent focus and cooperate well with the coaching staff. The target this time is definitely reach a higher level than last year.

"As captain, I am ready to accept whatever pressure that comes with the armband and I will give my best to full my responsibility as a captain. I hope to be able to deliver it well," said Mukhairi. 

In addition to the six local players, Hein Htet Aung, Selangor FC's young import player also participated in the 2023 SEA Games with his country's Myanmar squad, winning their first match against Timor Leste with a 1-0 result.
