SEA Games 2023 Wrap Up!


Selangor FC's young players who competed in the SEA Games 2023 have returned to the Red Giants camp since Monday of this week. They were taken home early after losing in the Group competition to practice with teammates.

With little time to prepare, the Malaysian football team managed to earn six points in the Group round match and finished third in Group B, failing to proceed to the next stage of the 2023 SEA Games. Here are the match results :-

Malaysia 5-1 Laos

Thailand 2-0 Malaysia

Malaysia 1-2 Vietnam

Singapore 0-7 Malaysia

According to the information that was gathered, all six Selangor FC young players played at least three Group stage matches. Furthermore, in all matches, Ruventhiran and Harith Haiqal are the two Selangor FC players mentioned in the starting eleven.

Aside from that, two teenage Gergasi Merah midfielders, Mukhairi Ajmal and Syahir Bashah, each scored one of the 13 goals scored by the Malaysian squad.

Simultaneously, Selangor's young import player, Hein Htet Aung, who represented his birth nation, Myanmar, finished fourth in the Sea Games 2023 competition after losing 3-1 to Vietnam. He also played in all of the games and scored a goal against Cambodia.

Selangor FC thinks that the experience obtained at the SEA Games in 2023 will assist these young players mature their playing style in the future.
