Match Review R16-1 | PDRM FC 1-4 Selangor FC | Remain Focused for Second Leg

Selangor FC won 4-1 against PDRM FC in the first match of the Malaysia Cup round of 16 yesterday at the MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya.

A four-goal comeback in the second half helped the Red Giants squad win the game yesterday. Despite trailing 0-1 in the first half, the determination displayed by the players paid off after Ayron Del Valle scored two consecutive goals in the 57th and 64th minutes. Then, Harith Haiqal, the team's young defender headed the ball in the minute 74th and Yohandry Orozco scored the last goal in the 90th+1st minute before the referee blew the whistle to end the match.

Head Coach of Selangor FC, Tan Cheng Hoe, wants the team to remain focused for the second match of the Malaysia Cup because anything can happen.

"In the first half we were a bit sloppy in terms of ball movement due to which we conceded a goal. In the second half it was quite different, the players showed good discipline and their desire to win this match was very high,"

"In football, a win in the first round does not guarantee a team to advance to the next stage. Every player made a big contribution last night. We have to prepare for a situation that may be different in the second round and continue to stay focused with their performance, " stressed Tan Cheng Hoe

From yesterday's #PDRMSEL match, some important things can be seen, such as:-

Ayron Del Valle's first two goals in the Malaysia Cup

The team's top scorer, Ayron has officially scored his Malaysia Cup goal with the Selangor FC team yesterday with two goals, making his total score with Selangor FC so far is 17 goals. Ayron once again proved his sharpness in front of goal as the Red Giants' new import striker this season.

Harith Haiqal is the top scorer in the defensive line

This young player repaid the trust of Tan Cheng Hoe, the Head Coach by placing him in the starting eleven list by scoring his first goal in the Malaysia Cup 2023. This also made him the scorer for the defensive line up with two goals so far followed by Sharul Nazeem and Yazan Al-Arab.

Bringing 4 goals to the second match of the Malaysia Cup round of 16

The fighting spirit of the players to rise from behind needs to be praised. The defence and attacking lines were more active and were able to nullify the opponent's attacks and score four goals in 49 minutes of the second half.

The management is happy with the comeback performance shown by the players in the first match of the 16th round Malaysia Cup. Hopefully the players will continue to show excellent performances in the second match. Come on, Red Giants!
