Match Review LS26 | Selangor FC 3-1 PDRM FC | Ending The #LigaSuper2023 Season With A Win

Selangor FC ended the Super League season 2023 with a 3-1 victory over PDRM FC at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, yesterday.

Tan Cheng Hoe, Head Coach of Selangor FC, stressed that the team's success this season is the result of the cooperation of all parties and not specific individuals.

"If we look at it, yesterday was a very intense match. What is important is that the players have given good focus to achieving their last victory of the 2023 season.

"Overall, as a coach, I can see that the players have been able to maintain a good relationship on and off the field throughout this season. The good relationship between the players seems so positive, this shows that the success of the team does not come from individuals but is the result of team cooperation,"

From yesterday's #SELPDRM match, some important things can be seen, such as:-

Faisal Halim remains Selangor FC's local top scorer

One season with the Red Giants, Faisal Halim, the team's winger, scored his first goal in the #SELPDRM match yesterday in the 36th minute, adding his Super League tally to 12 goals. In total, Faisal has scored 13 goals, including one in the FA Cup. He is the second highest scorer this season after Ayron Del Valle.

The young pairing of Sharul Nazeem and Harith Haiqal was praised

Several changes were made in the second half of yesterday's #SELPDRM match, including the inclusion of Harith Haiqal to replace Safuwan Baharudin in the centre back position. In the Merah Kuning camp, the alliance of Sharul Nazeem and Harith Haiqal is nothing new. Since the 2020 season, the two have been partnered with the Selangor 2 squad. The head coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, lauded their performance, saying, "Harith Haiqal and Sharul Nazeem have performed so well even under high pressure that they are able to absorb the pressure from the opponent. I'm hoping that this experience will help them mature in the future."

#MOTM falls to Selangor FC supporters

A total of 10,077 supporters came to fill the MBPJ Stadium to watch the final match of the 2023 season. The excitement of yesterday's match was greatly felt with the team's achievement of qualifying for Asia next season. Without your support, the team would not be able to achieve today's success.

See you next season Red Giants!
