Selangor Football Club (SFC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nidzam Jamil as the new Red Giants Head Coach for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of SFC said, "We have made a detailed and collective assessment, and based on the ability that Nidzam has shown us while he served as Assistant Head Coach for the previous seasons. Nidzam has extensive experience in the Malaysian football scene, understands the culture and direction of the club and knows the SFC players very well. For us, he is the right person to fill this position and is capable of leading us to overcome the challenges that SFC will face for the 2024/25 season.”
Born and raised in the town of Kajang, Nidzam Jamil was a former Selangor player from 2000 to 2004. Among his notable achievements as a Red Giants player was winning the FA Cup in 2001, the Sumbangsih Cup and the Malaysia Cup in 2002. In addition to his outstanding record as a player, he also has a good record as Head Coach since 2010 with SPA FC and Felda United FC.
In November 2021, Nidzam Jamil officially returned to the Merah Kuning squad after agreeing to become the team's Assistant Head Coach assisting Michael Feichtenbeiner during the 2022 season. In the same year, he was also appointed as 'interim' Head Coach for several matches and returned as Assistant Head Coach for the following year after the appointment of Tan Cheng Hoe at that time.
The management is very proud and honored to announce Nidzam Jamil as the new official Head Coach of the SFC squad. Hopefully with this appointment and trust given, Nidzam Jamil can prove his capability as a respected Head Coach in Malaysia and also on the Asian stage with SFC. Come on, let's give our undivided support to Coach Nidzam and the Red Giants!
