The Selangor FC squad has left for Jakarta, Indonesia to compete in the RCTI Premium Sports, an international invitational tournament organised by RCTI from May 30 to June 2 to fill the FIFA break this month. 

This tournament is also called ‘Derbi Serumpun’ Indonesia vs Malaysia; because the four competing teams are Selangor FC and Sabah FC from Malaysia as well as Persija Jakarta and PSIS Semarang from Indonesia.

The Red Giants squad is scheduled to meet Sabah FC for the first match on May 30th, the winner of this match will go to the Final on June 2nd to represent Malaysia. 

This invitation was well received by the team according to Nidzam Jamil, Head Coach of Selangor FC, "We are very pleased to receive the invitation to compete and meet our football friends in Indonesia. At the same time it helps us to continue the preparations for the league competition. Since right now is the FIFA break, I also feel that this is the right time for me to give other players a chance to experience an international tournament, which will help to set a high level of competitiveness among them.”
