Ali Olwan #IsRed

Ali Olwan was officially announced today as the Red Giants' latest import player to compete in the Malaysian League for the 2024/2025 season.

Born in Amman, Jordan, Olwan has been one of the attacking key players of the Jordan National squad since he was 21 years old. So far, he has made 42 appearances and 32 of them he has played as a starting XI player in Asian Cup Qualifiers, AFC Asian Cup, World Cup Qualifiers and International Friendly matches since November 21, 2020. In addition, he has also scored 12 goals with Jordan including his hat-trick against Malaysia in an International Friendly match in October 2021.

The 24-year-old player started his professional career with the club of his country, Al-Jazeera from July 2018 to 2021. He has played in the AFC Cup for six matches with the club where he and Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Selangor's key player met. He then spread his wings to Qatar with Al-Shamal SC, which was the starting point of his career, where he made 45 appearances scoring eight goals and registering10 assists in the Qatar Stars League and Amir Cup before being loaned to Al-Khor SC.

The experiences of the Jordanian national football players; Bahaa Abdelrahman, Yazan Al-Arab, Noor Al-Rawabdeh and Reziq Banihani, were influential in his decision to make Malaysia and Selangor FC his second destination in his career.

"Being an import player is actually quite difficult but I am confident with the choice that I made. To be honest, I have watched a few matches in the Malaysian league and I am sure that many good changes will happen over time.

"At the same time, the experience of Yazan Al-Arab, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Bahaa Abdelrahman and now Reziq Banihani at Selangor FC has actually given me a lot of confidence to come to this big club. I was told how Selangor FC respects the players and their professionalism in managing a lot of things, which are some of the important matters for me as a professional player. InshaaAllah, I will do my best with my abilities to help the team for this season,” said the attacker during an interview with Selangor FC Media.

Selangor FC welcomes Ali Olwan. Hopefully, he can strenghten the Red Giants offensive line for the 2024/25 Malaysian League season and the ACL 2 competition 2024. #OlwanIsRed
