Sep 16, 2024 - FASSelangor FC officially announced today the club's new goalkeeper, Kalamullah Al-Hafiz to compete for the 2024-25 Malaysia League and ACL2 competition.
More affectionately known as Kalam, three years of playing as a development player for Felda United, he managed to break into the team's main squad and play in one match. His name then continues to be widely known with the PJ City FC squad starting 2019. Kalam managed to make 54 appearances in his four years of playing with PJ City FC before the club was officially closed. He then made 36 appearances with Kedah Darul Aman FC for one season with them. According to statistics, Kalam managed to make a record 34 clean sheets in his career.
His excellent performance in the 2022 season has helped him to make his debut with the Harimau Malaya squad on December 9 in an International Friendly match against Cambodia.
According to Kalam, he will try to adapt quickly with the team to achieve success with Selangor FC.
"Selangor is one of the big club in the Malaysian league, especially during the era of the late Mokhtar Dahari, Shukor Adan and many other players who have played in this club that I know,"
"The atmosphere here is quite different for me but it is not an excuse to not adjust myself quickly with the other players. My hope is to play at a higher level and achieve a lot of success with this team."
He also expects strong support from the supporters, "I also hope that the supporters can give words of encouragement to the players and give us support because that way it can increase our motivation."
Selangor FC welcomes Kalamullah Al-Hafiz. Hopefully he can add to the strength of the Red Giants goalkeeper line for the 2024/2025 Malaysian League season and the 2024 ACL 2 competition. Welcome, Kalam!
