Sep 20, 2024 - FASYesterday, Selangor FC earned a point in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) 2024/25 Group H match against Muangthong United F.C., drawing 1-1 at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Selangor FC's import striker Ronnie Fernandez scored his first goal in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) 2024/25 for Selangor FC in the 47th minute after receiving a great pass from Yohandry Orozco that finished off with Ronnie Fernandez's left-footed shot. A back to back attack from both teams in the second half, but ended with a 1-1 result after Purachet Thodsanit tied the score in the 54th minute.
Head Coach of Selangor FC, Nidzam Jamil, believes that ACL2 matches against big teams can develop the team's performance over time.
"Of course we want to win but the draw is a good start for us in this ACL2. There were a lot of things that happened during the game, I agree that we have the option to make more substitutions especially in the attacking line up but I have to consider a lot of things before making a decision, especially when we had a lot of chances in the second half. The best thing I can say is that matches like this will help us develop better and learn a lot as a team, especially if we can participate in competitions like this from time to time,” Nidzam Jamil explained.
