The Red Giants will receive new blood when five more Selangor 2 players have been promoted into the main squad by Selangor interim head coach, Michael Feichtenbeiner for the Malaysia Cup tournament which is scheduled to kick off this November.

The five new faces are Kosovar striker Bajram Nebihi (32 years old), Malaysia-Australia mix striker Quentin Cheng (22 years old), Selangor 2 captain Sharul Nazeem (21 years old), young goalie Aqil Fahdly (21 years old), and the top local goal scorer in the 2020 Premier League, Danial Asri (20 years old).

According to Michael Feichtenbeiner, other young prospects including Aliff Haiqal Lau (20 years old), Mukhairi Ajmal (19 years old), and Zikri Khalili (18 years old) will also be given the opportunity to improve their performance and gain experience playing on the top-flight football with senior players.

"I believe this is the best opportunity for young players to grow well and they could help the Selangor team for the Malaysia Cup campaign with their ability," said Michael.

"This is also a golden opportunity for them to study with senior players of the Red Giants. For example Danial Asri, he can take the opportunity to learn new techniques and skills as well as train with two Selangor strikers, Rufino Segovia and Ifedayo Olusegun,” he added.

Bajram Nebihi who is the sole import player of Selangor 2 is currently training with all the import players of the Red Giants. He expressed his gratitude for this opportunity and will give his best if given the opportunity to act.

"Playing for the main squad is such a pride and joy for me. When I am needed, I am ready to do my best for my teammates and Selangor," explained Bajram Nebihi when talking about the experience of being introduced into the main squad.

Apart from Bajram, the Selangor 2's pillar of defense, Sharul Nazeem also expressed the same feeling after being given the opportunity to train again with senior players for the Malaysia Cup tournament for two consecutive editions.

“I am proud to be able to train with the Selangor main team. This is my second year of training for the Malaysia Cup. If given the opportunity to play, God willing, I will do my best, ”he said.
